Bali Nine member Martin Stephens has married his Balinese sweetheart in a prison ceremony.
The wedding was held in Kerobokan Prison's church on Monday in front of about 100 guests, including the groom's parents, Bill and Michelle Stephens, and members of the so-called Bali Nine drug ring.
Stephens and his bride, Kristin Puspayanti, were both wearing traditional Javanese wedding costumes.
Following the ceremony, a party was held in the prison's hall, where there was a lunch, speeches and dancing.
The newlyweds danced to romantic music before Stephens scooped his bride up in his arms and carried her to cut a three-tiered cake, to cheers and wolf-whistles.
"I feel so happy," Stephens told reporters, adding that he was planning to seek a presidential pardon.
"Of course, I'm sure it will come true," he said of his chances.
Ms Puspayanti, from Semarang, Central Java said she met Stephens when she was visiting her friend in prison about six years ago.
"I'm really happy today. God has united us... Who knows, if God wills it, he may be able to leave (prison)," she said.
Stephens, from Wollongong in NSW, is serving a life sentence for his part in attempting to smuggle more than 8.3kg of heroin from Bali into Australia in a 2005 plot.
Ms Puspayanti said she was not afraid of the length of her new husband's prison sentence.
"I'm not afraid, I'm not thinking about it (his sentence)," Ms Puspayanti said.
"I believe in God. If we're good then God will give us something good too. I was working in a restaurant, but now, I'm only taking care of him. I love him and I'm not afraid with how long his sentence is.
"I'm actually a widow with two children. But for now, I don't want to have kids immediately. I want to have kids when we're in Australia."
Kerobokan Prison Chief Siswanto said a room in the prison had been made into the newlyweds' chamber, just for one night.
"For the newlywed, based on humanity, there should be the first night," he said.
After the wedding, if Stephens' wife wants to visit him then she must follow schedule, Siswanto said.
